The Dirty Dozen 2018
I wanted to talk about something I had recently discussed with a friend the « Dirty Dozen”. Do you know about these? It is a list of the most pesticides-contaminated fruits and veggies that we should 100% avoid. This brilliant report is edited every year by the « Environmental Working Group« . Oh and, yeah, this is my first attempt to write something in English, mea culpa in advance if you find any grammar glitches. I’ve been meaning to write something for a long time but I think what I mean is, I was to shy to take my first leap and jump into Shakespeare’s Mother Tongue to discuss the infamous « Dirty Dozen ».
Today I’ve been discussing with friends about the quality of food, and what I had documented through a couple of books also other Netflix-famous documentaries. For example, « Crazy Sexy Cancer » from Kriss Car, “Foodmatters”, and “What the Health”. These are the latest documentaries that I’ve had the chance to view sadly. This topic is as popular as it is sad. It saddens me to see that agricultural groups are killing everything on Earth, by injecting poor alimentary composition for rapid-growth and to become jumbo’s eatable items. Although I do not endorse « veganism », I would openly say that our food consumption is more than ever a concern in 2018 because of this excessive sugar rash, when I say sugar everything contains sugar nowadays. This is why I decided to go for a change in my daily life. I’ll start with something simple such as the « Dirty Dozen », which is a good way and economically fair way to start revisiting my way to buy food.
What is the « Dirty Dozen? »
Everyone knows that some fruits and vegetables are more harmed by the tons of pesticides and, modified cells than others. It seems that some fruits or veggies are more dangerous than other.
Here is the list, you may want to dig a bit more and have look in greater details about these chemically-dangerous fruits.

So make sure to avoid these, as non-organic fruits.
- Strawberries
- Spinach
- Nectarines
- Apples
- Peaches
- Pears
- Cherries
- Grapes
- Celery
- Tomatoes
- Sweet Bell Peppers
- Potatoes
Enough, with all this negative news. I think if you now understand a bit more about the « Dirty Dozen« , you’ll find some comfort in knowing that there’s also a « Clean Fifteen » list. I’ll tell you everything about it in my next article.
Happy reading!
